The Angolan Theater Association (AAT) will hold, from the 25th to the 30th of March, the II edition of the National Theater Day, which will take place in the province of Benguela, with the participation of more than 400 artists and professionals of this art in across the country, consolidating itself as one of the biggest cultural events.

As part of the celebrations of World Theater Day, celebrated on March 27th, the day, which will now be held annually, will have a diverse program, including tributes to recognize and value professionals in the performing arts.

In addition to the workshops, workshops and lectures on theater at a national level, the event will feature screenings of theatrical shows from all provinces of the country, as well as other cultural activities.

To organize the event, the president of AAT, Tony Frampénio, led a working visit to the province of Benguela, in the first week of this month, where he met with the president of the Benguela Provincial Theater Association (APROTEB).
The meeting focused on structuring the day and discussing the persistent challenges in the development of performing arts in Angola.
“The meeting was positive and constructive, with fundamental points being agreed to guarantee the success of the event, which is of great relevance to the Angolan cultural sector”, stated Frampénio.

In addition to preparing the event, the visit aimed to promote theatrical development in the province of Benguela, including the legitimization of the AAT Provincial Secretary and the formalization of the organization's presence in the country's provinces.
Collaboration with APROTEB, to create a solid and mutual partnership, was another fundamental point discussed, including logistical planning and the definition of responsibilities.

After the meeting, a working committee composed of representatives from APROTEB, from the Ombaka groups and the Damba Maria Association, to guarantee the execution of the established plans and ensure the success of the journey.
