Ten carnival groups registered in Catumbela

Ten carnival groups, including children and adults, are currently registered to participate in the Entrudo Municipal Parade in Catumbela, in Benguela Province.

According to Germano Wilson Castriote Baptista, Municipal Director of Free Time, Culture, Youth and Sports of Catumbela, the goal is to register, until the first half of the current month, a total of 12 carnival groups of the two classes.
In the municipal parade, he explained, the Carnival group winning will represent the municipality in the provincial act in the provincial municipality, along with the Bravos da Vitória group.
The aim of the carnival groups of the municipality of Catumbela in the 2025 edition in the Provincial Parade of the Entrudo, pointed out Germano Wilson Castriote Baptista, passes the summit places, both in children and in adults.

The Municipal Director of Free Time, Culture, Youth and Sports of Catumbela assured that the Carnival Group Bravos da Vitória, as it winner of the provincial parade of the last edition, at this year's Entrudo, no longer competes in the municipal parade. "We will be represented with two carnival groups in the Provincial Parade, especially Bravos da Vitória and the winner who leaves the municipal parade." The biggest difficulties faced by the carnival groups at the city of Catumbela, according to Germano Wilson Castriote Baptista, have to do with the lack of material support and financial means for the acquisition of clothing and other artifacts.

The supports provided by the Municipal Administration of Catumbela, acknowledged, “have not arrived”, yet “the carnival groups of the municipality have not been successful when they knock on some companies asking for sponsorship”.
