BAÍA FARTA NEEDS A MASTER PLAN TO PROMOTE TOURISM

Lobito - The municipality of Baía-farta, in the province of Benguela, needs a master plan to improve the city's architectural structure, recover and rehabilitate spaces for tourism, according to businessman Jorge Gabriel.

The businessman, with more than 40 years in the hotel and tourism sector, presented this concern in the first forum on socio-economic potential and environmental aspects of the municipality.

"We have the possibility of implementing, in some spaces, caravanning, golf courses, paragliders for the use of ultralight planes, mountain sports and many others", suggested the businessman.

He also added that there is also a lack of support structures, such as more hotels, resorts, convenience stores, housing projects, etc.

For Jorge Gabriel, the beaches of Caota and Caotinha should fall under the jurisdiction of Baía Farta, due to the short distance from the coastal area, instead of belonging to the municipality of Benguela.

Classified as "environmental aggression", the pollution of the sea by vessels and the discharge of waste from companies and the population.

"This situation inhibits tourism, because no one will want to dive in polluted waters", he explained.

According to Jorge Gabriel, the municipality has great tourist potential and the State would benefit from collecting revenue from taxes.

He made a point of discriminating some tourist places, such as the beaches of Baía Azul, Meva, Baía dos Elefantes, São José point, in Macaca, and the Chimalavera natural reserve, capable of boosting the tourist industry.
