According to Ema Kavinja, who spoke to Jornal de Angola, as part of a solid waste raising and collection campaign, in Praia do Compão, maritime pollution directly affects the lives of marine animals, and could harm the fisherman's source of income. , salespeople and fish consumers.
In this order of ideas, he called for people to deposit garbage in the appropriate places to help reduce it in the region and in the country.
The initiative, in partnership with the Guardian of Costa Mwangolé and Ecopontos Recyclar projects is with us, which denotes the youth commitment to the environmental cause, led to the collection of about a ton of solid waste, especially bottles, cans, plastic bags, glass that have gone to the sea.
Already the coordinator of the Ecopontos Reciclar Project is with us, Eugénio Candimba, revealed that for the campaign were mobilized 300 people and that after the garbage was collected to the ecopoints, Lobito and at Benguela Municipal headquarters.
In total, they were collected close to 1,000 kg of solid waste spread across the Praia do Compão.
