Expective cultural agents with the recovery of the Zaire ship

Cultural Agents and Historians were expectant with the rehabilitation of the Zaire ship, located in Restinga Bay, in the municipality of Lobito, Benguela Province.

The General Coordinator of the Angola Literary and Cultural Association (Alca), Efraim Mariano Horchuto, spoke in the context of preparations for the second literary day, which will take place in the coming days in primary schools.

The Zaire ship, he acknowledged, is considered as a lever in the attraction of tourists, so his rehabilitation is important to keep alive and preserve the story. The concern is even from historians.

The proposal for the rehabilitation of that property, he said, is already from the public domain, which dates since 2023.
It is subscribed to the local government project portfolio, under the rehabilitation of recreational and cultural spaces.

The rehabilitation of the ship will contribute to the artistic creation, whether in the field of cell arts, literary production, crafts, music, dance, among others.
The Zaire ship serves as a catalyst potential, so that the literary class of the province of Benguela deepens history, and, above all, from the municipality of Lobito, will emerge values, which serve for the making of more quality literary works to be released, to be launched in the market.

The same was a vessel that, on November 7, 1961, the former president of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, traveled from Luanda, for exile in the Republic of Congo, where he had coordinated the youth activities of the Popular Movement of Liberation of Angola.
