National Geographic names Angola as one of the destinations to visit in 2026

National Geographic, an American company, selected Angola to compete in the “Best International Destination” category for this year, in a competition with around 98 finalists, distributed across 14 categories, alongside countries with strong global tourism prominence.

The aspects appreciated by the event’s organizers, which enabled the nomination of our country, result from criteria such as the richness of biodiversity, unique natural landscapes, cultural diversity, the authenticity of its peoples, as well as historical and cultural heritage.

According to information obtained by this newspaper, public voting will be open until February 22 and can be done through the website viajes.nationalgeographic.com.es.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, Angola’s nomination for the award symbolizes a strategic opportunity to increase the visibility of our country in major international markets and to consolidate its position as a tourism reference in Africa and worldwide.
