Adilson Gonçalves, who spoke in the Jardim da República, during the public presentation of the program marking the 407th anniversary of the city of Benguela, which marks the 17th of May, emphasized that, as they have already demonstrated their ability to respond in previous editions , this year, hotel agents will not escape the rule.
Hence explaining that, within the framework of the outlined program, the committee for the aforementioned parties was concerned with bringing, from the outset, the Benguela Hotel and Tourism Association (AHTUB), to be better prepared and maintain a service of quality.
Recalling that Benguela receives many visitors on weekends, especially on long weekends, the governor highlights the good response capacity, and, in his opinion, complaints from tourists regarding the provision of services are rare, except for insufficient beds.
However, the person responsible admits that these complaints regarding the number of insufficient beds actually end up being a positive indicator of how Benguela is becoming a tourist destination at national level.
Tourist routes
The deputy governor informed that AHTUB is working with the Provincial Office of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports to redefine tourist routes in Benguela.
For Adilson Gonçalves, the traditional festivals in the city of Benguela have the particularity of moving not only the province, but also the country in general.
However, he says that one of the various ways to attract an increasing number of tourists is to update tourist routes, with the inclusion of new places yet to be explored, mainly in the southern maritime area of Benguela.
He also stated that this objective led the president of AHTUB, Cláudio Silva, to carry out, in the last ten days, boat visits to unexplored beaches in the south, missing in the north, as part of the redefinition of a new tourist itinerary for Benguela.
It is in this context that the engagement of the hotel sector stands out in order to attract more and more national and foreign tourists interested in visiting Benguela.
“There are many tourists, not only national but also international, who are eager to visit Benguela”, he highlighted, stating that the challenge is to make the festivals in the city of Benguela a good tourist product and meet the expectations of everyone who visits. the location during this period.
The director of the Provincial Office of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports, Rosária Chitale, looks at the festivals in the city of Acácias Rubras as the best way to bring tourists to the region.
