Forty-seven exhibitors participate in the first edition of the Agricultural Products Fair in the municipality of Chongoroi, in the province of Benguela, in allusion to the 53rd anniversary of the city's ascension to the category of town, ANGOP learned this Monday.
Expo-Chongoroi, organized by the Municipal Administration, runs until next Wednesday (4) under the motto "Grow and make it grow".

Products such as rice, tubers, wheat, vegetables and fruits, produced local area, as well as forest resources can be found at the event.
Health and other services are also available.
According to the municipal director of Promotion and Integrated Economic Development of Chongoroi, Gilberto Tanga, the number of exhibitors exceeded expectations .
It bodes well for the stallholders to do good business, judging by the number of residents and others who are flocking to the place.

"Depending on the number of participants, we are already thinking about holding other editions as a way of stimulating local production", he said.
For stallholder Alberto Kamussi, from Escola de Campo Eka Combile, the event is providing great business opportunities and to serve as a means of exchanging experiences with other producers.

On the other hand, he said that his products are in great demand from visitors, namely cabbage, onions, corn, potatoes, bananas, eggplant and cassava. Alberto Kamussi requests that other editions be held, with the participation of a greater number of exhibitors.

The fair was inaugurated last Sunday by the municipal administrator, Ernesto Pinto, in an event witnessed by guests, such as the deputy national secretary of OMA, Maria Esperança Pires dos Santos, general officials and citizens.
The municipality of Chongoroi, which has Agriculture and livestock farming are the main activities of its inhabitants, it became a town on September 1, 1971. It is located 150 kilometers south of the city of Benguela, and borders, to the north, with the municipalities of Caimbambo and Cubal , to the south with Quilengues and to the east with Caluquembe, both in Huíla, and to the west with the municipalities of Baía Farta (Benguela) and Camucuio (Namibe).

It has an estimated population density of 114,127 inhabitants. Administratively it has two communes: Bolonguera and Camuine, with 11 densely populated villages, which are Malongo, Cui, Cutembo, Cavinjirite, Hanja, Bunjei, Londanganga, Camuine Baixo, Tchitoco, Vianja and Cavissecua. CRB
