Alert: Harmful Situation in the Southern Region of Angola, Especially in Benguela

The southern region of Angola, in particular the province of Benguela, is being severely affected by the airline TAAG and the lack of competition in the sector. Recently, a group of 15 tourists from Portugal on a tourist excursion faced serious setbacks due to the actions of TAAG.

At Luanda airport, tourists were waiting to board a flight to Catumbela airport when their flight was unexpectedly cancelled.

TAAG's ground staff did not provide adequate support, resulting in the group having to pay accommodation expenses and being divided into different flights, causing major inconvenience.

This situation is unacceptable and puts Angola's reputation as a tourist destination at risk. TAAG's lack of professionalism and lack of competition are detrimental not only to the tourists, but also to the promoters who had organized the tour in advance.

It is crucial that urgent measures are taken to guarantee the quality and efficiency of air services, thus protecting the country's image as an attractive tourist destination. TAAG's negligence cannot be tolerated, and measures must be taken to hold the company accountable for its harmful actions.

The current situation raises questions about the reliability of aviation services in Angola and raises doubts as to whether tourists will return or recommend Angola as a destination in the future. Promoters and tourists deserve a safe and professional experience, which requires immediate action to resolve the issues caused by TAAG's lack of competition and mismanagement.

It is imperative that the competent bodies investigate and take corrective measures to ensure that situations like this do not happen again. Angola's reputation and tourism potential are at stake, and it is essential that the quality of air services is a priority for the well-being of tourists and the development of the country's tourism sector.
