Today in Luanda, the ambassadors of Zambia and the DRC participated in the signing ceremony of the Host Country Agreement between the Government of Angola and the Lobito Corridor Transit Transport Facilitation Agency (LCTTFA).
A decisive milestone in the operationalization of one of Africa's most strategic transport and economic corridors.
The ceremony was presided over by His Excellency Mr. Ricardo Viegas D'Abreu, Minister of Transport of Angola, together with Dr. Amadeu Nunes, Executive Secretary (Director-General) of the LCTTFA Secretariat.
This Agreement formally establishes the LCTTFA Secretariat in Angola, granting it full legal personality, privileges and immunities, which are the necessary institutional basis for implementing the shared vision of Angola, Zambia and the DRC.
Held shortly after the successful EU-Zambia Summit on Lobito in Lusaka (November 12-14, 2025), this ceremony demonstrated strong compliance with the commitments made by the three countries.
Today's signing demonstrates that the Lobito Corridor project is moving from the planning phase to the execution phase.
The main topics addressed at the event included:
• Reduction of administrative and transit barriers;
• Faster, safer, and more efficient movement of goods;
• Greater competitiveness for importers and exporters;
• Construction of an integrated economic development corridor;
• Support for industrialization, agriculture, growth of SMEs, and regional value chains.
