10th Benguela International Fair (FIB) kicks off today, in that city, remaining open for three days, with 100 companies participating in the event marked, this year, by the expectation of the resumption of economic activity and the strict observance of biosecurity measures to avoid contagion with Covid-19.
The exhibition, organized by Eventos Arena, company specialized in promoting fairs and other commercial events, with support from the Provincial Government of Benguela, resumed after the interruption imposed last year by the containment measures adopted to contain the spread of the pandemic.
Speaking to Jornal de Angola, in Benguela, Eventos Arena spokesperson, Manuel Novais, indicated that the 10th FIB will be held at the Ombaka National Stadium, with exhibitors from that and the provinces of Luanda, Huíla and Huambo.
"I believe that the participating companies will establish good businesses", stated Manuel Novais, considering that, despite the crisis generated by the pandemic, "entrepreneurs must be able to adapt", with exhibitions being necessary to "move and recover activity economic.”
According to the source, it is necessary to establish contacts and identify business opportunities, but, he warned, in the conditions of the pandemic, fairs "only make sense with scrupulous compliance with biosafety standards”.
When speaking at the inauguration, Luís Nunes urged exhibitors to be aware of the current challenges involved in making the economy more competitive in the province. During his intervention, the governor also stated that the goal is to create more business opportunities and new jobs. At the fair, national products such as food, beverages, clothing, construction, fishing, agriculture, construction and automobile shows are on display. According to the organization, at least 150 temporary jobs were created. direct, to which are added others under the responsibility of the exhibitors.
