The old Priests' House, located at the top of the hill with direct access to Praia dos Padres via a staircase.
At the time, the residence was not primarily intended for religious activities or liturgical celebrations on the premises. Its use was solely associated with the support, rest and retreat of the Priests.
The priests who worked in the missions in the interior of the country, often under demanding and isolated conditions, used this house as a temporary refuge when travelling to the coastal area of Benguela.
It was a place where they could regain their strength, enjoy some leisure time, breathe the sea air and maintain direct contact with nature before returning to their missions.
Thus, although it was a space associated with the Church and the clergy, regular religious activities did not take place there, nor did it function as a church or permanent mission. Its purpose was mainly human and practical, providing physical and mental rest for the religious after long periods of pastoral work in the interior.
Today, it is an abandoned site that serves only as a historical reminder, and its location offers an unmissable view of the nearby sea and the neighbouring residences.
