PALLIATIVE WORK ALLOWS MORE FLUIDITY IN TRAFFIC IN LOBITO

Lobito - The "pothole filling" operation, underway since the beginning of this week on the main roads in the city of Lobito, province of Benguela, is allowing traffic to flow more smoothly , ANGOP found out this Thursday.

According to the municipal director of works and infrastructures, João Luís, the administration decided to carry out this work pending a major intervention, which will include asphalting .

To carry out this undertaking, that institution has some partnerships, such as the National Company of Aerodromes and Roads, Aerovia, which has made men and machines redundant.

In turn, the Water and Sanitation Company (EASL) is supporting with the supply of water to be used in the embanked areas.

Meanwhile, the two roads on Avenida Salvador Correia, included in the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), have already received loads of tuvenan (pavement base) and at the moment there is a leveling machine to complement the work.

A hole that was located a few meters from the Africano roundabout, on the descending road, has also been eliminated and as a result, the traffic jam that bothered motorists, especially during rush hours, has disappeared.

Some drivers who use that road daily said that the hole in question caused damage to a large part of the sidewalk, as vehicles of all types, including trucks, passed that way to avoid it.

Others that caused problems for cars, including breakdowns when it rained, were those at the Bairro da Luz roundabout, on national road 100, which had also already been repaired.

As for dust inside the city, much complained about by passers-by, it will be minimized because a tractor will be carrying out the irrigation service daily, according to the director.
