Sport Lisboa e Benfica has officially expressed interest in developing a structuring project in the province of Benguela, according to a document sent to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Agriculture and Fisheries of Benguela.
In the communication, the Portuguese club refers to the objective of creating a Benfica Campus in Benguela, integrated with a residential football academy and a world-class educational center, based on Benfica's recognized training methodology.
The document highlights that Benguela was identified as a strategic location, meeting the conditions to host an investment of this size. The project provides for sports training, school education, accommodation for student-athletes, community programs and a permanent base for the club in Angola.
Sport Lisboa e Benfica also considers that the initiative could generate jobs, attract international investment, boost sports tourism and reinforce Benguela's image abroad.
If progress is made, the project could represent an important milestone for sport, youth and economic development in the province.
