Angolan artist Carla Peairo presented this Wednesday, in this city, an exhibition called "Roots", in partnership with Africell Impact Foundation, under the celebration of March Woman.
The sample will be evident to the public until March 31, at Gallery 10A, and is made up of 14 works that present a visual path that portrays the Angolan cultural identity and inspired by human connections, African symbology, social challenges and the beauty of African women.
Second Carla Peairo, the work reflects a fusion of tradition and contemporaneity through different materials and techniques, including oil painting on canvas, acrylic on screen and mixed technique.
explained that he chose the name “roots” as a way of preserving his origins in a period when he was far from his land from 1990 to 2010, portraying the lives of Africans.
"The works I expose represent a period when I lived abroad of the country and are in fact a testimony of my cultural identity, because it was at this time that I understood the importance of my Africanity as an artist representing the continent in my creations," he said.

Born in Benguela, Carla Peairo is a plastic artist with a trajectory of over 70 individual and collective exhibitions in Africa, Asia, America and Europe.
His works are part of public and private collections in various countries, including Angola, Germany, Brazil, Denmark, Dubai, the United States, France, England, Senegal, Portugal and Switzerland.
In addition to his artwork, Carla performs functions as a teacher of visual and plastic education and curator, contributing significantly to the valorization of Angolan art. CRB
